Where we will celebrate

Santiago sits in a valley with the Andes rising right behind it. Snow on the peaks, vineyards at their feet, close to the beach and a city full of restaurants, terraces and good wine. Late October is spring here: long, warm evenings and everything in bloom.

Getting here

There are no direct flights from the Netherlands to Santiago. These are the connections we would book, with typical prices when you book 6–8 months ahead.

Booking tips

  • · Prices are lowest around 6–8 months before departure. Late October is shoulder season, so it is cheaper than December or January.
  • · Flying into Santiago (SCL) and stopping for a couple of days in Buenos Aires or Rio often costs the same as a return flight — ask for a multi-city ticket.
  • · LATAM sells cheap domestic flights inside Chile; book them separately once your dates are fixed.
  • · Set a price alert on Google Flights for your dates and let it do the work.

What we have planned for you

We are not planning one evening, we are planning a long weekend. Here is how it looks — everything is optional, but we would love to have you at all of it.

The house

We are renting a big house for everyone who wants to stay together. We will rent 1 or 2 places depending on the number of guests. You will get to share breakfasts, the pool, and no one will be driving home alone at night. The exact location will be shared soon.

The house for the wedding weekend

Prefer your own place? Santiago has great apartments and hotels close to the house. Apartments from €50 per night, hotels from €80 per night.

THURSDAY

From 15:00 PM

Arrive and unwind

Once at the airport we recommend booking a transfer with Transvip. You can book a private car for around €15 per person or a share ride for around €9 and the trip takes about 30 minutes to your accommodation. Take this day to sleep off the flight, meet everyone around, no plans, no dress code — just chill and relax.

FRIDAY

12:00 PM brunch · 15:00 PM vineyard

Brunch & a vineyard

A van will pick us up and take us for a slow brunch to try some Chilean delicacies. Then we'll head out of the city into the beautiful wine valleys to taste what Chile does best. We'll be back in the evening with time to relax, enjoy the pool, and rest—because tomorrow is the big day!

The big day

12:00 PM — religious ceremony at the Schoenstatt Shrine of Campanario. Please arrive on time. Afterwards a van takes everyone to Chateau Potrero Seco Vineyard in Talagante, where we expect you around 14:30 PM for a reception, dinner and dancing among the vineyards. At the end of the night the same van brings you back to the house or your hotel.

What to wear

Spring formal. Suits, long or midi dresses. The ceremony is in a church, so covered shoulders are appreciated, and part of the evening is on grass — bring block heels or something you can dance on. The colours below are our palette if you want to match, but they are absolutely not required — any colour is welcome! Just stay away from white, cream and black.

Please avoid

  • · White, cream and black
